I will be interested to know who does method 2 locally. For $30 i seriously doubt it

Also means u will always need to get a topy replacement of the same thickness everytime henceforth, else u get same "imbalance" thereafter?

At least the cobbler I go to does that... its just another common Shukey chain cobbler at Parkway Parade. A thin layer of sole is skimmed and the topy laid on top of it and it tapers and sits flush with the leather sole under the arch where the topy ends.

It still is slightly thicker than before topying but thats normal as the original new unworn sole would have been thicker before wear anyway.

The cobbler at suntec does that as well. Depending on the rubber you choose the price will vary. $30 and up.

Nice pair Arc,

Any one commented on them in the office?
I cannot imagine wearing blue shoes to work.

Haha.. I don't meet customers so not much issues for me. No one has commented on them... trying to be a little discreet, haha.

They don't stand out too much unless in the sun. It looks quite dark in the office so blends in well.

Need to brush up my polishing skills... applied 5-6 coats of wax but still can't get the shine like the shoe snob in his youtube video.... haha

5-6 coats? I think you're just wasting the wax? :o

Use the renovateur. No need to rush to create shine. I find the aging process help with the shoe's shine actually.

Prob not for me too in the office, it would definitely stand out (nicely too) but thats not something i would want dressing-wise at work. But thats just me.

This will be a fun pair for me, in fact abit of a struggle finding an occasion to carry it off. Probaby dinner, theatre.

On a side note, somewhat "glad" to observe similar creases i get on my edetals. Yes all shoes crease, i know. Still my edetals crease the most amongst like 5 other brands of shoes i own n still something i cannot quite figure..

Yes I think so too.

Actually if you polish your boots in the army often, you realise it is not how long you do but how often you do it that matters.
