Anyone bought Cheaney shoes before? Any feedback?
Apparently Saint Crispins don't even recommend using that at all. Just wax is enough.![]()
Oh they said that? I overheard Ed say that when I was browsing at their store.
If the context is about shine then i agree wax is adequate (in fact reno is not adequate IMHO if its about shine).
But i thought reno is about conditioning the leather, is that not recom by st crispin and ed? What would they then recom for conditioning instead?

My bad. I meant I overheard Ed say don't reno new shoes. I dunno anything about saint crispins.![]()
Yes. That i heard before and the theory is apparently that the reno may strip off colour (not likely if u ask me) and its prob more useful to apply reno after some wax build up, so the reno is removing wax rather than colour from the shoe.
Shoe shine is a dark art.
Many schools of thought and opposing view.
If you read the shoe care guide on their website. Maybe it applies only to their shoes though.Oh they said that? I overheard Ed say that when I was browsing at their store.
Bringing my shoes for a walk after my 1st round of conditioning and polishing!

yar lor different strokes for different folks. as long as happy with the end result, i think doesn't matter bah
There are experts out there, some use their own secret recipe shoe care products, secret methods. Some even claim the way most people including myself do (army style spit and shine) is amateurish and the shine is not as good as theirs.
got people use glossy black spray paint spray alsoU r right man.
Back in the days of NS time some people already got different ways to gilat their boots. Some wack lots of kiwi then polish the whole day. Some heat it with candle or lighter, some anyhow polish, some use liquid kiwi.
Has anyone tried SHOEMAKERS | handmade shoes | handmade brogues before?
It is a HK outfit with quite possible Chinese manufacturing behind it.
Where to get decent insoles?
My boots on the way to Dandy (Parma) to be Patina-ed!
I am very interested too. The price is in USD right? If so, it is very close to AE prices, but slightly cheaper.
I would want to know whether they measure instep, and the quality of their suede.
Any "before" pics?
