Hmm... First time polishing with saphir burgundy cream. It does darken the shoe little bit. Previous only with rejuvenator only. Probably could be due to white down light factor vs natural light as well....

Shoe creams contain pigments so they generally do not "come off" to reveal the shoe's original colour. Colour variations can and will occur so it's best to accept it as part and parcel of shoe maintenance. Even with neutral creams, a slight darkening of the shoe will take place in most occasions. If it's really that big of a concern, then it's best to stick with a cleaner/conditioner and wax polish.

In any case, I have a similar pair of shoes that I've used Saphir Burgundy Cream, and a combination of burgundy, mahogany and neutral waxes to great effect.

Edit: I also forgot to mention- use enough coloured wax polish and colour will change as well. I've used black and dark brown wax on the toecap of my lighter brown shoes to darken them ; hideous results but I've seen others pull it off well.
