I have bought stuff from Herring multiple times. And in the 1 time, they screw up, the did the recovery very quickly and offered a good alternative or a full return and re-send of right item.

I think how the online retailer treats its customers are so so important because we are not dealing with them face-to-face.

Bro. It's really very difficult and perhaps not very possible to compare a very good mid range brand to a damn near perfection top tier brand like EG. But looking at overall opinion, there should be distinct differences in leather quality, construct, finishing and overall balance of the shoe. Whether you start going into brands like EG, lobb, g&g i do believe there will be distinct differences.
But i will surely vouch for the quality, aesthetic appeal, and goddamn, a bloody hot chick named Carmina Albaladejo. I can totally see why they named an orgasmic shoe brand after a babe like her

Oh. AS is in fact a really solid mid tier brand and their AS Exclusive range shoes are solidly £320ish after minus vat. So 550ish sgd is indeed a very good price
But yes ... i can't wait for my EG as well. I will consolidate the next 6 pairs or so together and post pics together

Spent the last few days and hours reading this thread.

Brands mentioned, (from $-to-$$$),
Meermin, AE, Carmina, AS, JM Weston, John Lobb.

It is safe to say, Meermin can be considered the entry level of "good" shoes ?

With regards to the Meermin, do they run true to size ? They have UK size, most I buy leather shoes on EU size, Sneakers on US sizes.

Edit: By the way, how the quality of Cole Haan ?

Buy AE factory seconds and it will cheaper than meermin.
Cole Haan all China made. I would pay more than usd$60 for them.
When I visit outlet clearence are cheap at under usd$50

Church, Church's Shoes, Churches Shoes, Herring Shoes, Loakes, Loake Shoes, Barker, Cheaney, Tricker's, RE Tricker, Sebago, Jeffery West, Men's shoes
