where is the recommended place to buy shoe care like saphir etc.
Wanted to buy from AFPOS but the shipping quite expensive

You can find Saphir products such as renovateur($28) and cream polishes($25) at Tangs. Ed Et Al are selling Collonil "1909" shoe care products while Mason & Smith @ KS retails Burgol shoe care products. Altenatively, you can head down to Mustafa to get Dasco products(horsehair brushes and cream polishes).

Hi fellow shoe lovers,

For vass mto, im wondering if anyone has a contact to share?

Would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

You may want to contact Isaac but presently, he's not located here physically. Alternatively, you can contact his mate (Danny), a local SG rep. I can PM you if you're interested.

Since it dries to become clear transparent rubber, it's more stealthy than traditional metal or nylon taps.

I learnt recently that even if the Goodyear stitches on the sole gets worn away, it does not really come apart, as each stitch is like a lock stitch. The rubber portion of the heel is the first to get worn down, and for that I have Mcnett Freesole to the rescue.

Do you have a picture of the soles you've done? :o

I feel the ultimate protection is this:

Dear Valued Customer
January is known to be the most miserable month of the year. With that in mind we've put on some fantastic offers for one weekend only! Please take a look as soon as you can to get the widest selection of deals while they last.

Firstly, the discount on all clearance styles has now been increased to 30%. Simply click through on the box to the right that matches your size to see the selection available.

Secondly, we are offering 15% discount on all non-clearance styles. Avail of this offer now by entering discount code JANUARYBLUES at checkout.

As if that wasn't enough, all customers who purchase between now and Monday at 09:00 GMT will be emailed a discount code entitling them to 10% discount off the new collections for Spring/Summer 2015 from Barker and Loake. These styles will be available on our website from February and you will have until the end of March to take advantage of this exclusive offer.

Finally - don't forget we still offer FREE DELIVERY on all orders over £150.

Thanks for your continued custom and support.

Best regards,

It is for working purpose , want to have some nice mixed of leather color, I tried the Maganini (spainsh made) , but does not fit me well. Something of nice design but not too flashy. It is for office wear.

We only retail the handmade Burgol brushes and outsole oil not their entire range; the rest of the leather care products we have includes Saphir, Obernauf, and Turms :)

How about another pair of tailor made DW?

Anyone knows what is going on? Pre CNY Sale?

I had the impression going to be a new product launch or smthing...

I want to know too! Am a bit wary about buying new shoe for CNY before then in case they have a massive sale!

In regards to shoe tree, which material do you all prefer? Cedar or Beech wood? And why?

Cedar wood due to it’s affordability however there are minimal differences as compared to beech wood(the former having a much stronger scent). If due to self-indulgence, I would not hesitate to acquire obeche or hornbeam wood shoe trees. From what I gathered, generally, G.J. Cleverley and John Lobb use obeche for their lasted shoe trees, while Corthay uses hornbeam wood. Carreducker uses tulip wood for their bespoke shoe trees; which is both light and beautiful.

While some talk of shoe trees absorbing moisture, I believe the main point of trees is to fill the shoe so that as it slowly dries, it keeps the size of the last. That is why having lasted or bespoke shoe trees is crucial for quality shoes. All in all, personally for me, it really doesn't matter what type/species of wood a shoe tree is made from but however, the proper fit is far more essential.
