Hi friends,

am looking to buy a pair of shoes from meermin, but am unsure of my sizing - did anyone have any experiences of writing to them for advice, and did this come out positive if so? Thus far only have got experience with loake and not in the 1880s range.

thank you!

They answer both of my questions regarding sizing quite fast.

Apparently, based on my personal conversance, what was stated on their website contradicts the email replies from their sales representative. However, I encourage one to trace & outline their feet (not just one foot as one of our foot tends to be larger than the other) and send the copy to them. They will then respond with the corresponding size based on the enquired last(s). Do also visit styleforum for more detailed explanation and comparisons of different lasts.

If that still proves futile, I then strongly exhort you to try out the shoes physically rather than plunge; taking a risky gamble. Maybe seeking out some of the brothers' aid here as I'm sure they are willing to render assistance.

Morning guys,
With the Euro at a historic low, I am itching to get more shoes online. What other sites do you folks buy your shoes from? (carmina, skoaktiebolaget, etc.)

Appreciate contributions!

My query to them last june, and a follow up couple of weeks later, never got answered or perhaps never reached them!

Hit and miss. The SF folks are pretty much fed up with Meermin with the recent conversion to US$ pricing and not following up on QC emails.

I still have a MTO boot on order from them.

For carminas u can also consider quality shop. Bexley, scarosso, markowski are other EUR-based shops. No direct experience though.

The other online shoe shops I know are UK based (carrying UK brands GY welt shoes) and would charge in GBP though.

Hope this helps and welcome others to contribute! Certainly should make full use of the weak EUR (whilst SGD is still 'ok').

Hi guys, was wondering if anyone knows of any well known maker of shoes in Japan? Particularly Osaka and Tokyo?

I have heard of Il Quadrifoglio and Marquess. I think there's a list on SF, mainly focusing on Tokyo though. Zero idea what the price points are though...

Price points are probably around 2k for MTM and 4k on wards for Bespoke for most Japanese makers.

hi guys, for budget of <$200 for office use any recommendations? I don't need to go for expensive fancy shoes, just something that looks good and quality decent. I've been getting by with Pedros but they rarely have classic designs any more.

Seems like it's worth a look there. Saw the designs of Yohei Fukuda, looks very nice. Perhaps cause he had worked in John Lobb before?
