How are suede shoes better, apart from fitting wider feet better? T_T

Well, I don't think it's a matter of better or worse. You would wear suedes and calf in different situations I feel.
The advantages of suede include comfort, less creasing, less maintenance generally, no need for polishing. And yes, they just look and feel so damn good.
Suedes are also invaluable to me, giving my feet an opportunity to heal after a day of wearing crapmins.

I have a pair of nubuck timberlands for stomping for comfort and stopping around in. For everything else I use smooth leather. Personal opinion I guess.

Purchased these in a fit of patriotism thinking I could buy them OTR.

Then I was informed that I needed to wait over a month to collect them.

Then I starting reading this forum and realised $350 was a little overpriced.

Was feeling a little sian about my purchase until I collected them today! The shoes look pretty good which is a bit of a consolation!

Downside to suedes: low water resistance

True, but Tarrago Hightech Nano Protector Spray is amazing for suede and nubuck. Simply, it acts as a repellent. That well-coated mist can last for 2-3 months before the coat diminishes; provided one takes care of the shoe and try to avoid puddles, stains. If you treat suede shoes well, it will last a long time. Besides, one need not polish them as part of shoe care rituals. Such convenience, I would say.

No per-SUEDE-ion needed to wear suede. No pun intended. Heh.

Cheers to the weekends.

You dont have to take special care for suede. I wear mine in the rain without spraying anything. The beauty about suede that it looks really good once beat up.
