looking to sell my allen Edmonds mcclain. Still feel tight after a few wears.
You dont have to take special care for suede. I wear mine in the rain without spraying anything. The beauty about suede that it looks really good once beat up.
Totally agree!
very nice my friend
where are these from?
Feel very jelly when I see your suede collection.
I did... Got the laurelhurst loafer in choc calf...can't beat the price!
oh Yes. HahaI really dig the Tacoma but sadly it's not in my size!
I saw it as soon as he posted it. I was talking to Justin via email. So I went to sleep. Next morning the loafers were gone. My size. I was like ****! Anyway I got the Northgate grain leather shoes for work. Damn I miss the loafers and suede ones. The denim one looks good too.
Nubuck is "rougher" and generally not used for dress shoes. Suede is made from the inner side of a hide, whereas nubuck is made from the outside.
Downside to suedes: low water resistance

but I thought its a good buy if anyone gets one. its cheaper than the in shop sample sale.

The definition of suede in modern use is also the name of many different products as different tanners and makers market their wares lol
1) The original suede is buffed top grain leather (to raise the grain/corium fibres). More commonly known as Nubuck now as a form of differentiation. Very soil-resistant.
2) The corium layer (hairy bit) left after the top grain is split off. The most common modern suede termed product. Nap is the softest of all but is not as soil-resistant as the others. Has no other name.
3) The simple reversed fleshside of top grain leather (top grain acting as liner). Nap appears long and rough. Usually known as Roughout. Very soil-resistant.
So as you all can see, not all "suede" is equal. I wouldnt recommend wearing No.2 out in the rain or heavy use without some form of protection. No.3 was the standard for Marine combat boots in WW2, throughout the Pacific campaign.![]()
But the question is: is it really like hot butter?
Managed to get a group shot of suedes!
