Loake $200+ range are mostly polish leather or GY welted rubber sole.

To really appreciate UK made shoes, personally I would recommend calf leather with leather sole.

Ed's from $330. Not worth it IMO. Leather or rubber sole in good year construction means you can resole and the soles ar waterproof. Rubber soles make for better grip though.

At $120 a pop, their shoes are as good as it gets... If I were someone considering shoes at that price range, it would be an attractive proposition.

I believe that the leather used should be corrected grain leather, as I don't think it would be commercially viable to use higher grades for that selling price point.

Man, Ed used to be very competitive but now his prices are rising like mad to the point where their market position is getting fudged with the next tier.

I suggest top up abit for Herring/Loake/Meermin stuff, check out other local brands like LLYR (priced slightly cheaper than EEA and from my exp, better leather in terms of creasing) or buy 2nd hand if you dont mind, since there are some pretty attractively priced pairs that are hardly worn out there on Carousell and what not. (like Thundermarch's stuff, too bad I'm not UK8.5 )

Don't forget to bargian.

Includes everything to be done with dandy but you would still have to pay for shipping of the shoes to your location which is the same rates shown on the website

The shoes look great. Anywhere in Sg I can try them? I have really wide feet. Measured 8EEE at the red wing store if I'm not wrong so many shoes fit me poorly.

For Meermin, since you have pretty wide feet, I strongly recommend that you email your feet measurements (or outline) to them to get accurate sizing/advices accordingly.

You may head down to Robinsons and try out Loake's shoes to determine your sizing for different lasts. Preferably, the 1880 range series. On the same note, lasts by English shoemakers tend to cater to people with wide feet. This may be a viable suggestion.

To be honest, for EEE width, purchasing RTW footwear can be a daunting task. Rather, MTO (or even bespoke) can serve you well; a pair of well-fitted shoes and a long-term investment.
