To pass BMT:
- BTP (basic trainfire package)
- Hand grenade throwing
- IFC (individual field craft)
- Field camp

Basically you complete those above can pass out of BMT. IPPT is not a requisite, neither is SOC, in case you're wondering. And not forgetting at least 75% of your BMT days without status, meaning participating in training. Any more than that, most likely OOC.

Hand grenade is not a veto (have seen people made it to SCS without completing it). Some companies don't even attach out for make up if training programme clashes.

Field camp may not be a veto as well (have seen one case where recruit was genuinely sick throughout (including when others were attached out) but still manage to graduate), but I may be speculating.

Last i heard is 2/3

Field Camp
Range
IPPT

and 75%

but failing all that, sometimes under certain circumstances, they may still let you pass.

I don't know if this is the case in the SAF, but in the SPF, if you fail your IPPT, you will be ineligible for promotion. Especially if you fail it during your basic training, you will probably stay the same rank until you pass your ippt...

Ahh yes something like that. I don't really recall that clearly now but yours seems the closest.

Yeah, personally have seen folks in unit going for the throwing way past their BMT. Well, I guess at the time, they had free time and provisions to organise a make-up throwing session. As for field camp, I have no idea one can graduate BMT without completing it.

I don't remember the details now since I just tried my best to not fall out of any of these activities. Just complete and fk off from the island!:s13:

Eligible if called upon since you are still considered combat fit and can bear arms (unless excused). Usually assigned, unless you didn't mind swapping with someone else who had to attend to something or is sick, then I guess that's voluntary. Though there's definitely a reserve personnel in case that happens. Another way of assignment to guard duty is punishment (i.e. sign extra).;)
