Worth it to pay for tablet screen protector?

I don't know if I should pay $20 for branded tempered glass from amazon or buy OEM film screen protector

Is it worth it or waste of money? Just need the screen protector be clear and work with apple pencil

In fact, why do people buy glass protector when plastic film works and wont break?

Glass protector less prone to scratches unlike plastic film. Also easier to paste.

Downside of glass protector is that it can crack if you are not careful and you cannot unsee the crack line.
