Worth to go overseas study?

Hi All..

I really dont know if i should study locally or go overseas to study for a degree.
A brief background on my acadamics.. grad from poly with 3.9+ GPA in Engineering
I will be self financing be it local or overseas.. no scholarships
the 2 choices that i have in mind are:
1) NTU Aerospace Engineering (BEng) 3 years
2) Imperial Aeronautical Engineering (MEng) 4 years
Although the pound has weaken after brexit thingy.. but overall it is still very expensive to for the whole degree.
Also, my parents are semi retired alr.. they dont earn a lot.. should i take a bank loan to study overseas? will it be worth it? my parents said they will support me as long as i can study but i think they need to sell away the other house to support me
really confused.. what should i do?
hope someone can give me an insight if it will be worth to study overseas in my current situation.

If you are planning to work overseas for at least 5-6 years then yes. If you are going to come back to Sg right after graduation then no.

Do your bachelor in Singapore just to be close to your dear parents. They did not expresso but the move will comfort them. All parents want their beloved babies at and/or close to home. They deserve returned love always.
The location for your masters and doctorate can be decided later. All will be well and happy.

1. The school fees overseas are usually based on how much you can make in the industry in that country when you graduate. It’s high because pay for that profession is high as well. If you are paying high school fees but come back to sg to work immediately, you are likely to get less than half the pay you could be getting while paying more than twice for the degree.

2. If you are studying at a top overseas university. The industry there might be top in the world as well. University mostly teaches the same stuff everywhere. But it’s a gateway to get you into the companies locally. If you go to a top tier university in certain field, you have to at least work in the companies there that’s top in the area and gain experience there before you are valuable. If you go back sg directly, you are learning same stuff as people in local u but paying more.
