Would this set up work well? (airflow)

Calling all airflow expert. :s13::s13:

Recently did a overhaul on my rig(case is a Meshify C) and switched to a 5800x+Darkrock4 cooler with a MSI RTX 3070 trio X.

This is the current set up with just 1 intake and 1 exhaust fan. Please refer to the picture below. As the current temps are less than ideal (particularly CPU temps, am currently considering switching out the Darkrock for a Corsair H100i instead.)

This is the set up I'm thinking of running, would like to see if there are any suggestion that I can improve on.

I will be positioning the 240mm rad as a top mount, with the 2 fan that comes with the cooler as exhaust, pushing the air from the case through the rad.

The current front intake fan from fractal will be relocated to the bottom as a intake fan again.

Lastly, I will be adding 2 additional 120mm fans to the front of the case as intake. The specs of the fans are below.

Fan speed: 500-1600 ± 10% RPM
Rated voltage: 7V DC
Rated current: 0.16 ± 10%A
Rated power: 1.92W
Air volume: 53.6CFM
Wind pressure: 1.81mmH20
Noise: 13.8~30.2dB(A)

Oh my, you sacrifice the cpu cooler capabilities for the additional 2 RAM slot by position the fan at the back facing exhaust fan?

Keep the dark rock 4. Add more fans.

H100i isn't going to perform better than a good air cooler. You'd want to go 360mm AIOs for that.

If u set top to exhaust, it will be fighting for air to cool your cpu. Perhaps you can try setting rear to intake, then cpu cooler fan to intake as well. Top set to exhaust. Front is fine for intake but seems like btm front cant put fan due to gpu length?

That single 120mm intake fan at the side is at the side panel? Your meshify C is solid side panel or TG panel?

The CPU fan needs to be on the other side in a push rather than pull configuration.

One reason why i consider going with aio instead of sticking with the dark rock was also partially because of clearance issue between the gpu and cpu hsf. I figured since the aio cpu mount is gonna be much smaller and lower, it probably won't be affected quite as much by the heat radiating from the gpu itself.

U might want to change the clearance for the radiator + fan too. If i am not wrong it should be 52mm in total? Cos it seem like u only can top mount

It's the TG version. Planning on putting it on the bottom as a intake fan but am having 2nd thoughts. Perhaps a 3x120mm at the front would be a better idea?

The btm fan seems to be mounted on the psu shroud in which the psu is directly below it with very little clearance. Dun think it will do you any good.

As for front, i think 2 is enough, Top and Middle. Bottom nt really needed coz it is cooling the hdd cages, u can buy if u want. The top and middle shld be more critical. I would say if u are getting other fans, do consider using them at front instead. Coz there is some distance from front to cpu/gpu, a stronger fan is needed. U can use the stock fans at the rear/top since distance is shorter.

Despite what you tubers say about exhausting air through radiator, it will never be as efficient as passing cooler air through it. It will definitely affect your cpu temps. Try it to see for yourself. Of course, make sure the test scenario is correct whereby both cpu and gpu are under load to simulate a typical gaming session.

If mount gpu horizontally, got any effect or not?

If install horizontally i think not a huge amount of difference, currently only have 1 front intake higher up because of the gpu clearance. Which is why I've order 2 15mm fans to be used as front intake instead

Thanks for the advise. Would certainly try that out.
Would you suggest mounting the fans in a push or pull set up for the rad in that case?

Honestly I'd just get a better case. :p

Your GPU is exhausting hot air directly into the CPU tower cooler and the intake.

if possible, try mounting your GPU horizontally and install 1 more intake fan up front.

Honestly I'd just get a better case. :p
I'll get a larger case too, the gpu is blocking 2 of the front intake fan spots... :look:

Yeah I work in O&G industry where finfans (same concept as aio) are used to cool down after reaction and although it's pushing out air, it's taking in the cooler surrounding air.

If you put it into pc context, ambient air outside is much cooler than the air in your casing so intake is a better option. The best but ugly way is to mount your intake fans on top of the radiator to push cool air in. I bet you get better temps

I front mounted the AIO. Best placement IMHO
