For fps games, i'd rather get a 1440p monitor with 165hz (xb271hu or pg279q) like me :D. But for everything else, its a damn good monitor.

same. using the xb271hu on 165hz. wouldnt want to downgrade to 100hz. i did consider getting the x34 but i was previously using 144hz...so its more like a downgrade to me. so chose the acer xb271hu instead.

Actually this monitor looks brilliant and all. And i have intentions to buy this actually.

But what really put me to thinking is when im watching bluray videos. The fact that it is 1080p, it has 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 format to show no black bars at the side.

But if i were to sit closely to the monitor, i would see some fuzziness in it due to the scaling involved.

But if i were to lie in bed which is about 5m away from the monitor, the fuzziness looks less noticeable than siting infront of it.

So that is why i'm holding back my purchase for this.

Another reason is that i have yet to find a 32inch monitor 4k with gsync. Such as the XB321HK

X34 user and loving every bit of it. The only downside of this fella is the menu controls... Its annoyingly confusing at times.

Playing games and watching movies are just damn immersive. I was into 21:9 3440x1440 monitors since LG's 34UM95 but wasn't drawn into it till the x34 came up with its 100hz OC and g-sync. They had issues before the feb/march 2016 batch.

If you have the budget I'd recommend this over a 4K or 144hz monitor. If you don't care about g-sync or curved screen, you can go for LG's 34UM95 for 800-900ish.

The X34 is one of the best gaming monitors you can buy.

I considered this before going with the Z35 as I wanted a VA panel (for videos).

Go for it, great monitor and love mine. If you're not in a rush you can wait for the X34P.

I honestly can't tell much of a difference going from 144Hz to 100Hz, but I can tell a ton of difference going from 60Hz to 100Hz.

Once you tried ultrawide screen for gaming, you won't go back.

If you have a Nvidia card, GSYNC is amazing at >60 hz
