You mean 100,000, right? Why not go through the money changer? Cos after conversion, it's just over SG$1000,so it shouldn't be a problem changing this amount at the money changer

Nope, just 10,000 yen haha. I went to the arcade last week to change S$1.4k to yen but only received S$1.3K worth of yen cos I didn't know money changers only sells in 10,000 yen denominations and I didn't have enough cash to top up

So why not go back and change another SG$100+?

Since the amount is small suggest going to money changer near you. Traveling to collection point which may not be close by, transport costs would be more than the savings.

As the queues there are sometimes snaking long, I would have went back if the amount I am changing is more substantial.

That is my plan if I fail to get the yen by Thursday. Just hoping someone has spare yen and would like to clear it. Thank you for the suggestion though.
