Yeah its back to signal bars now but the updated visual is gorgeous and I love how the new screenshot feature works.

The vertical memories feature shouts out to the iPhone 8 right there. I believe it might take up the whole display vertically for it.

iOS 11 allows the camera app to scan for QR Code too. When scanned, it has a notification at the top telling to proceed to safari to view the QR code in url.
