hi, im researching on traveling to xian in nov. any tips or recommendation for elderlies? food? things to do?

Don't recommend for the elderly.

People go to Xi'an to do day trips to the Terracotta and Huashan.

No way the elderly can do Huashan unless damn fit.

Terracotta still doable but quite a distance by bus. And damn crowded and lots of walking.

Xi'an is boring. You'll be done in a day.

I was there just pre-Covid. Pair Xi-an together with Luoyang. Go around Mid April in time for the Peony season. You can visit a lot of parks - both paid and free - with the Peonies in full bloom. FYI, peony is the national flower of China. Luoyang - you can visit the Longmen Grottoes - very impressive. You can travel to Luoyang easily by high speed train from Xi-an. I find Xi-an very interesting - Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Muslim food etc besides the terracotta . You can also try their shopping malls. Quite interesting. There is also a night street which I forgotten the name which is very interesting. You don't have to do Huashan if you have eldery folks.

There appears to be 3 stations in LuoYang, so it depends on your planning of destinations to visit.
Luoyang Longmen seems to be very near to the grottoes. I have never visited Luoyang.

Take high speed train - about an hour or so. Quite cheap and nice experience to be travelling more than 300 km per hour. You can place a cup of water near the window and you will see it never move.

I strongly recommend to see the Peony Festival. It lasts only about 1 to 2 weeks every year. The flowers are larger than the size of your hand.
