Hmm the couple of times I used NFC Google pay for mrt (on local 13u), didn't have any issues. Was quite responsive.

But i personally am more used to taking out my credit card to tap directly.

I use the regular transit link card and usually holding it next to my 13U the 13U will indicate NFC card detected etc etc.

Sad...any advice on how to backup from 13u?I'm new to Xiaomi interface
What do you want to backup? For me, I only backup:

1. SMS/MMS/Call log - SMS Backup Restore - has been using this app for ages and it never failed me
2. WhatsApp - Just do usual backup from Settings - Chat - Chat Backup - Backup and copy the Android/media/com.whatsapp folder out and transfer to the new phone. Follow these instructions for details - https://faq.whatsapp.com/618575946635920/?cms_platform=android. Or you can backup to Google drive as well but with caveats that if during the upload there's a new message it won't be captuted
3. WeChat - this one a bit heng suay, the new phone sometime cannot login but once you're able to login, can just transfer the convo wirelessly from old phone to new phone by scanning the QR code
4. Line - quite straight forward

The rest of the apps can just login with Google SSO and it will populate all the settings.

I know there are alternative like backing up to Google or Mi cloud but I still prefer manual.

Hope this helps.

Yes. I think it reads my credit card or what too.

So I generally keep NFC off until I require it

Can I ask. When u all use nfc function at public transport do you guys place the phone near the reader by the bottom rear? Or screen face down at the reader or at the camera lenses?

When I try Dreamcast suggestion...using a ez link card to test if nfc msg pop up. I notice the error msg of not applicable nfc function pop up when I place ez link card at the bottom. But no response on screen and camera lens( with the photographer camera lenses protector)🤔

I have the camera kit also and use it 100% of the time. For NFC, I place the reader between bottom of camera island and top of grip. So basically middle of the phone.

Before 13U, I had 13Pro. And was able to NFC from almost 10cm away. Found the hardware superb.

You may simply just have a bad phone. It can happen to iPhones and Galaxies too. That's what the warranty is for

Not sure if it's relevant, but do you keep your Bluetooth on? (I know by right it's separate from NFC)

I'm in China now and when I use alipay for metro qr scanning, it requires me to on Bluetooth to generate the qr code. Maybe there's some sort to dual authentication

Depends on where is the NFC modules and how strong is the NFC reader, most of it is in the middle (ie same area as wireless charging). For 13U a bit more picky due to the thick camera island. Its not good to be too sensitive as well in case of accidental tap.

So far so good based on today experience...slow to react when try tap via lens. But at the bottom slightly faster.

Guess the phone reflect the user...Xiaomi really is mini me...can't work under pressure..haiz

Someone mentioned there are two xiaomi stores on Shopee, one is Chinese the other is SG.

The chinese shop selling mi 13 ultra now at 1545. Free watch. Apparently global rom. International warranty. Can buy? Or go RWM safer?
