No, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max and an “Ultra” model are not the same—and that’s because Xiaomi hasn’t officially released a 16 Ultra yet. GSMArena report that Xiaomi is working on a 16 Ultra, expected to launch about a year after the 16 Pro, likely in 2026Is XM16 pro max the same as ultra? If not, why don't have ultra in the line up?

Digital chat station recent post on 22 july said xiaomi is not using this sensor. Should be omnivision ov50x or maybe another customised model from smartsens.
yeah..the 15U ultra-wide really sux for most shots...definitely need to bring back the variable apertures!Interesting that Chinese imaging companies ( including Omnivision ) use an unusual "decibel" scale to describe dynamic range instead of usual "stops".
110db is about 18 stops of light , which is absolutely incredible if true, only real world examples will tell.

"Xiaomi will be dropping one rear-facing camera as part of a full redesign for its next-generation Ultra-branded flagship. Seemingly targeting the Vivo X200 Ultra, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is rumoured to feature at least two new camera sensors, including an upgraded 200 MP periscope zoom lens."
Hopefully a large ultrawide sensor + variable apertures for the larger sensors.
