Anyone has issue with Netflix, I have searched high and low on the internet for solution but no luck so far. Initially, box box is able to play Netflix but it suddenly stopped. TIA

Go playstore and update netflix.

Haves tried different android boxes and so far I firmly agree that the mibox is still the best. Although I have not had a Shield before.

Despite the pros of the Mibox.. it does have some issues here there. To me it tends to get laggy after awhile (maybe cos no shut down mode, except sleep), it’s wifi connection is not that consistent. Truth is maybe my issues have to do entirely with my home’s wifi, but such issues are not deal-breakers.

Most curious bout trying out Amazon Fire sticks now. Considering one can side load apks (or so it seems), and it’s audio support is very decent plus full 4K.

You can buy Ugreen USB to Ethernet adapter to use Ethernet if you are having WiFi issues with Mi Box Global or Mi Box S.

As for Amazon FireTV Sticks 4K, it is the best value for Netflix since it supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It does not support any type of DTS though. The memory of 1.5GB is a bit less than desired but the CPU is pretty decent, better than Mi Box S’s S905X, only a bit behind new S905X2.

Mibox has very good wifi, if your mibox's wifi performance is not satisfactory, you will face the same problem or even worse with firestuck.

For mibox, if you enable "don't keep activities" under developer options, you should not face the lagging problem.

Fire stick can't ship to SG. Not worth la. Mibox more solid

Thanks I would also need a USB + Ethernet hub. Is a standard USB + Ethernet hub sufficient?

Not all USB Ethernet adapter will work. Ugreen is said to work well. Ugreen has USB Hub with Ethernet adapter which works with Mi Box S.

You should be able to get them from local online shops.

This should work based on what I read. Xiaomi Mi Box Global and Mi Box S only have single USB 2.0 port anyway and 100M Ethernet is good enough for Android TV boxes, especially for streaming applications.

USB 2.0 cannot utilise gigabit linkspeed anyways.

It is ok.. all one needs is to have about 7 MBPS to play 4K Netflix movies, even a 5 MBPS line might work too.. USB 2.0 at 100 MBPS is already plenty for 4k playing
