Hi all,

Looking to purchase my first xiaomi box. Can't decide to buy online or ship from Taobao.

Qoo10 are selling it around $40-$50, but xiaomi's official website starts at 299RMB, which is close to $66 already. Are the ones on Qoo10 fakes or do they really manage to save so much?

Cheers!

Hi may I know from shafa.com which app able to watch tvb jade channel (not just drama).

don't need, for most of the player, you need a thumbdrive, copy the apps to the thumbdrive and insert, it will pop up a dialog box to ask you whether to install.

another way is to use the built-in browser to go www.shafa.com to download shafa market. the shafa market has many apps for you to download and install, it also has remote install function so you can install apps from pc via your homenetwork.

Don't think so. If any, I also want to know it too. Previously TVApp can watch it, but now not available anymore. And moreover, TVApp also block Mi Box3. :(

I have not used my mibox3 in over 6 months, today decided to come back to it and spent whole day since morning to successfully root and have play store working.

None of the guides I have found worked but some of them provided the apks that are needed. In the end spent the whole day factory resetting and trial and error but finally got play store working.

I haven't had the chance to sort out what I did yet, or if I do remember the correct order of steps I took that is.

How to root?
I tried a few, one even let me boot to an older version in the mibox's recovery, but the only one that worked is on 360.cn, scroll down and download 360超级ROOT apk.

Just install, and press the round button. If it fails, just keep trying, it will try different rooting methods.

If you successfully root, please reply and share which firmware version you succeeded on.

I believe one impt difference is the lack of usb port on the mini.
The usb port can be used for supporting use of wireless mouse, use of thumbdrive.....

With root access and Google Play Games installed, my mibox3 is a mini android console with achievements tracking, even if the GPU is not that good..

With root access, I can install gamepad supported games from Play Store even if they are >1gb (the leftover internal memory)
Dungeon Hunter 4 from Gameloft

Play local multiplayer co-op with multiple gamepads connected
Badland

2x Xiaomi gampads I bought on Qoo10 for $19.60 each which I mainly intend to add 2 more controllers for PC games.
I also bought Google Cardboard for $5 so i can use the gamepad with my phone for VR.

Surprisingly, the Xiaomi gamepad is a better and very much more responsive remote for the Mibox3, especially on the keyboard to type input.

the remote is a joke, the direction button is so hard to navigate and the respond seems slow also.
