Mi5s plus is China rom. Can't detect NFC sim card and
Unable to use Android Pay .... disappointed.

Phone no lag, fast response. Ram management is better
than my s7 edge . Battery life is as good as S7 edge.

I just did the software update , still having issues on Android Pay.

What is the exact rom version you are using now?
Have you set the default payment method to hce instead of mi pay?
Is your phone bootloader lock?
Google bootloader lock if you are unsure.

Android Pay didn't work for me. Haiz.. a bit disappointed for an otherwise very well rounded phone.

mi note 2 or mi5s plus more worth it? since the specs almost similar

On qoo10. For 128gb.

Mi note 2 is $800+
Mi5s plus is about $600+

Specs is actually the same only design, battery life (200+mah) and camera is different.

Mi5s is shorter but very slightly thicker (like 0.1mm)

I did the same comparison that's why I went mi5s plus.

Are you guys getting your WhatsApp push notifications real-time? Mines seems to only come in when I launch the app. Any idea how to fix this?

I know Xiaomi phones don't include earphone. Does the standard package comes with the quick charge adapter? Or need to buy the charger separately?

Mi Note2 give more atas and premium feels.:s13:

I find myself using note 2 more then mi5s/plus. :)

Actually comparing mi5s with Samsung S7, for $200 more you will be getting,
- better build quality phone,
- better display screen,
- higher resolution screen,
- SD card support (storage expansion and so that you can reset your phone without having to copy and paste back),
- better camera, sharper image, better controlled exposure for dark and bright areas,
- camera with OIS
- faster even though snapdragon 820 vs 821,
- no China crapware
- Android pay and Samsung pay (sure work, don't have to monkey around)
- no more monkeying around tweaking and hacking to get apps to work,
- better brand, better status
- more accessories
- more user-friendly phone, buy and use
- local warranty
- water resistant

Think it makes better sense for those who want hassle free option

Thanks. I dun really understand this Rom thing.. When he say cannot update. Meaning the apps cannot do updating.

Tomorrow got 1111 sales.. Not sure to get or not

Regarding the updating, he meant that the preloaded ROM will not receive any updates in the future as it's a modified unofficial ROM.

If you want updates, you may request the seller to preload the China ROM for you and you can manually install Google Services. Otherwise, you may manually flash the official Global ROM when it's released by Xiaomi officially.
