Guys and gals, any of you experience Mi 9 bluetooth issue when connecting to in-car Head Unit?

I have no problems connecting with earpiece / earbuds, but when I try connect to in-car Head Unit, it tends to fail and requires re-pairing, which sometimes fails too.

I thought this was a MIUI 9 (or Xiaomi.eu) ROM problem but when I upgraded to MIUI 12 (also Xiaomi.eu) ROM, the problem persisted.

Anyone has similar issue / workaround?

Also, anyone feels the sound is better with MIUI 12? I remember MIUI 9 sound was damn soft but now like better.

no issue when I use Android auto in my car. The only bug now is that the screen on my mi9 will auto dim after about 10 sec of inactivity which cause my head unit to dim too. Didn't happened before. Not sure is it the miui 12 or Android auto causing this bug.

Thanks bro. Good to hear Android Auto works for ya. I'm driving a BMW that has no Android Auto so I'm not sure why it doesn't play well with the Mi 9.

I took my old(er) Huawei Mate 10 Pro out to connect, and it was seamless - for the most part, at least 😂

So strange. Maybe continental cars don't play well with Chinese phones
