I had been using this phone for 2 years plus. Now it is getting laggy even though I check I still have 20+ gb of free storage space.
Another thing I observed, updating of apps through Google play getting slow....sometimes it just doesn't seem to be downloading....and it gets stuck at 99%....have to wait very long before installing starts.

Think with the branching out of Redmi focusing on budget...this Android series I'm afraid had come to an end...just my thoughts.

My power button and volume button is getting more and more difficult to press.

Anyone have sent to service centre for repair? How much will it cost?

same issue

does anyone know how to switch on this phone xiaomi mi a1 if the power button is spoilt?

or if there's any repair shop that service this?

To turn on a Xiaomi phone without the power button, connect it to a charger. If the phone is completely off, press and hold the Volume Up button and then plug in the charging cable; this will typically bring up the recovery mode menu. You may then need to use the volume buttons to select a "Reboot" or "Reboot to system" option, and the phone should restart after a few minutes.

Step-by-step guide for a completely powered-off phone:
  1. Press and hold the Volume Up button: on your Xiaomi phone.

  2. While still holding the Volume Up button, plug the charging cable into the phone.

  3. The phone will vibrate and display the Xiaomi logo, or it may enter recovery mode.

  4. Use the volume buttons: to navigate the menu to the "Reboot to system" or similar option.

  5. The phone will automatically select the option: after a short wait and begin to restart.

  6. Once the phone starts up, you can remove the charging cable.
