Ya lor! Note 7 curved edges makes it even worse...much more smaller display in visual sense and inherited the bootloop pattern from LG G4...

A friend of mine send me this article :

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-xiaomi-lost-40bn-where-it-all-went-wrong-apple-east-1576781

Is this true? Means what? Soon no more good and value for $$ products?

Nothing is wrong with Xiaomi just that the market they entered first is now flooded with other similar makers.

Probably due to economies of scale and low barriers to entry when market gets more and more saturated. One person can only own probably 1-2 phones on average.

That's why you see oppo and vivo entering the market. They might have dominated China considering the patent and IP laws are simply non existent but that is not case for other countries where you can't just happily pirate another phone design without getting yourself screwed all over.

At the end of the day, who wins? Consumer wins.

I'm no expert, but I don't think they 'lost' any money, if anything, all it says is that some analysts believe that their earlier valuation estimate when pitching for investors was too high. That's about it. Lol.

I'll leave the predictions to the market analysts, but I can say anecdotally, from a personally POV, I'm starting to own more xm products (started with a powerbank, then mi band, now mi max), and see the same with my friends - more and more using xm phones. Quite surprised when I realized it.

It's true they have more competitors at their end of the market now, but doesn't mean they are going to die. Look at how many of us bought mi max over other phones...

After s7 edge and note edge, I'm staying away from phones with curved screens. Its a nightmare to even paste screen protectors or use any case in conjunction with them cause it pops!

Curved screens = nice gimmick != functional

Valuation is just speculation or ppl's perception. A simple example will be how an iPhone can be sold at 1000+ when the cost to manufacture is only a few hundred bucks.

Market demand valuates the phone more so Apple can sell it at an exponential price. Similar to all other manufacturers like Samsung. Note 7 retail price is 1168 but resellers are flipping at below 1k from the last I saw it.

Lazada on weekends for citibank, or friday for posb or scb.

All can use with shopback.

Alternatively can go hachi preorder for local set...

curve screen make the display look nicer, curve sides made it seem like no bezel and the image have a pop out effect

I also avoid curved screen but so far I pasted full coverage tempered glass for mi max and Samsung Note edge both looks perfect.
