Their definition of "global rom" should be only with google play preinstalled as miui has not released any official version yet

Thanks for clarifying. In this case, they shouldn't have mislead the buyers.

If I not wrong, these are tempered rom download from miui forum.
I personally prefer official rom and install playstore myself.

So far, any issue using this phone? I see a few postings saying about contact and Goggle play issue.

Now, Simder Trading stated that they got the Global ROM for this phone. Does it means the Goggle play is preinstalled and one should not have any issues faced previously by the Chinese ROM?

There is an official Mi Max China ROM of 874mb from the official product support page. This is the same 7.3.12 update we all got. No Global ROM yet.

In that case, I shall wait for global ROM availability. Without NFC, is half a deal breaker.

payment? or check ezlink value? i think nfc not really a needs now.

qft, IR blaster more useful and practical than nfc.

Depend on each individual. For me, I do my budget reconciliation every night, so having nfc to check the balance of my card is important to me. Already, not being able to check KPT card balance is annoying to me. LOL... Different stroke for different folks lah.

Also, my Nexus 6P is just barely 1/2 year old. If sell, can only fetch about $500. Too much to lose..

But, I did say only "half a deal breaker", not totally.

Pro for me

Big screen
Long battery life
[maybe] IR

Con

No NFC

I do have a $329 unit in my cart that's order placed and waiting for my payment though. Have up to 27/5 to decide...

Today never play with the phone so much. The phone on battery for 22 hours, on screen time 7.5hrs at about 75% brightness. 7am till now almost 1am still got 20% lol

I could really get used to charging the phone once a day and not be worried about low batt :D

The rmn3 could easily do 10hours SOT with normal usage I skipped thinking this has bigger screen yes but also bigger battery.
