Overall impressions after playing with it for 2 hours.
Very good screen and super impressive for the price tag. Comparing it side by side with iPad Pro 11 (2020), the quality is comparable but iPadOS still edges it in terms of smoothness in the UI. Both are 120hz but somehow iPadOS animations look smoother.
A keyboard will definitely improve the experience but if you are using this tablet purely for entertainment and casual browsing, keyboard is not required. Snapdragon feels snappy when switching between apps, i havent experienced any hiccups or lags for now.
Global version obviously will come loaded with lesser of the famous Xiaomi bloatwares. But there are still quite a number of them preloaded on the device. I used ADB to remove most of the bloatwares like Mi Cloud, Mi Pay, Mi Credit, Freeform, Mi Drop and many others and the device feels even smoother now.
Very impressed with this and will be keeping this tablet for casual use and maybe even HBL for my kids. Its been years since i used an Android Tablet and feel this good about it, my last Android Tablet was a Samsung Tab S2 and that experience made me avoid Android Tablets ever since.
For anyone on the fence, just go for it! You wont get better value for money than this.
Some tips for better user experience:
1) ADB into the device and remove all unnecessary bloatwares from Xiaomi
2) Turn on developer options and change Transition animation scale and window animation scale to .5x
3) Turn on Second space feature under Special Features. This will create a virtual environment where you can let your guests or kids play their games without disturbing your own settings and apps.
All these are easily done although need abit of techieness for number 1.
If need in-depth guide do sound it out and i see if i have time to write something simple to understand
