I think he may means the panel is 4K LED/LCD. But the rest of hardware actually do not support 4K format yet. So just the display, that's why so cheap.

I'd love to get a xiaomi tv but just concerned with shipping damages and warranty issues. Hopefully it'll come to sg soon.

You really believe panel is LG/AU? Even some LG TV use panel made in China.

Hi all,

i finally managed to get it mounted and set up properly. i must say, this may be one of my best purchases yet.

firstly, i connected to my house storage router and all my movies and shows are on it.

so i stream movies and stuff directly to the MiTV. when playing a movie, the TV automatically searches, downloads, and plays the subtitles together with the TV. how cool is that!!!

the display is extremely vibrant and the 3d is sharp. not like some of the older generation 3d which sometimes comes off weird shaped and stuff.

even though everything is in chinese, even i can understand how to use the TV (i took CL B in school). everything's quite intuitive and the logos help.

i played a couple of my ps4 games on it and it was arousingly impressive. thief finally has a display to show off it's amazing graphics.

end of the day. if you're willing to take the risk of shipping a TV from china, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I might consider ordering one too. Shipping I think can get any taobao agents in SG to help you arrange. Not sure if there's anywhere cheaper than taobao to get it from though. I'll wait for comex and check out the deals first before deciding...

Hey buddie,

Can you share how you get it mounted? Am looking to get one also.

Are you able to fit the standard VESA mounts? No DVB-T2 tuner right?

any idea if it's on display? Does it come with warranty and the soundbar/subwoofer? The specs a little weird leh. Why 4k reso on 47inch TV? mitv2 is 49inch. If no warranty I'd rather save money and ship in myself. Am on the verge of ordering once I iron out the shipping details.

Definitely no local warranty since its not local set and not even sold officially by xiaomi sg. Most likely if any warranty, its provided by the vendor itself. Probably arrangement would be vendor help you send back to china for repairs.

Sorry to TS for the OT but for those interested in local 3rd party forwarder, can check out https://www.oops.sg/price.php

As per here

Hi,

I suggest you should consider to buy directly from Xiaomi.com

Item value: 4382.61
Domestic shipping: Free
International Shipping: CNY500/CBM (Sea freight)
Assisted Purchase service fee: SGD5/0.1cbm

Total estimate: (4382.61 + 500) / 4.90 + 50 = SGD1046.45

If you're interested, please place order at www.oops.sg

Best regards,
Hirakawa

I bought small items from taobao using their assisted purchase service before. They are pretty slow in processing orders and replying to customer queries. But then their shipping prices are pretty ok.

I also like to know if it is on display for demo and curious if it comes with the soundbar.
I don's see the specs from the picture, how you know is a 47"?

Just did a google on this vendor Newstar electronics and they have a shop in sim lim. If i am not wrong their shop is situated in 1 small corner and run by couple of prcs. Take what you want out of this info but its pays to be more cautious when dealing with sellers based at sim lim.

hi all,

sorry i mia-ed while everyone was discussing.

to aLpHa-Ev7,

no DVB tuner. i got it mounted on the same one i used for my previous 42" samsung tv. not sure what the model of the mount is. i searched high and low for the screws. i even considered fabricating the screws because i had this 49" white elephant lying on my table. so i gave up and called a friend from gaincity who linked me up with their resident tv installation guy. they came down and got it fixed up. not too sure how. apparently the back isn't flushed so they put an additional mount on the tv so that it could fit the wall mount.

to tronian,

i used popdaigou.com to ship it in. they're pretty responsive and quite reliable (have shipped small stuff from them before). but their english sucks so you've got to be patient. haha. i have pics of the tv on my wall but i'm not sure how to post them here. sorry noob HWZ member. i can email them to you if you want.

to everyone else reading, please bear in mind there is NO ENGLISH LANGUAGE in the software. so everything is in chinese. if you can't read chinese or not comfortable reading chinese, not suitable. but like i mentioned earlier, the symbols are pretty intuitive so even a potato eater like me can use it with relative ease. haha.

which forwarder did you use and how much did it cost in total? So far the forwarders I've found don't provide insurance for damages for sea freight. Guess really have to take a leap of faith.

I am using ASM (ASM Logistics Pte Ltd - aspires to go beyond for our customers' needs in today's ever-changing environment, providing personalized services to our clients, catering to the global needs & aiming to be the world's local forwarder.)

They did a good job on the wood carton. The TV is well protected.
