same here. I factory reset the whole thing, just install whatsapp, still happens. in the end got a mi 4i and is much happier now.

Most likely clearing stocks of Redmi 1S(or its accessories too) since it is now selling at the same price of $169 with many many free accessories .

Yeah the 1s is in stock. I vaguely recall the 1s is faster than the 2 and latest firmware had annoying bugs fixed. No 4g though.

Yup, technically Redmi 1s is slightly faster than Redmi 2(1.6GHz Quad vs. 1.2GHz Quad) and the recent update fixes some bugs on 1s and overheat problems were lesser now, according to some users on MIUI.
Some tradeoff would be the lack of dual 4G SIM and the latest 64bit CPU(though not beneficial now on R2 since it's still on Kitkat)

Though MIUI 6 Stable still has yet to come for Redmi 1s, which was previously promised around late-May to early-June..

Going to China next week. Intend to buy the redmi 2 enhanced version with 2gb ram and 16gb storage. It is stated to be china mobile version but in the chinese forum it was said that you can go into the network setting and change the default to access to FDD LTE network. Any brother has a unit here to verify that it will work in Singapore 4g ?

yeah, maybe cos got no new Xiaomi devices were registered in IDA database so maybe could be a price drop for Redmi 2.

not likely to be Mi Note, since the videos posted didn't even feature Mi Note, but the Redmi 2 instead. Maybe a price drop or a bundle deal etc.

I am in China now. Will received my enhanced version tommorrow. If Singapore version is released, will consider return this chinese version and get the sin version.
