Can also look at Sharp mid-range models, some special features like display output via type-c port, depends on whether you think it will be useful during travel

Motorola G35 (I think can get at $16X or $18X) and Morotola G85 got esim but dunno esim is region-dependent anot...
Yeah, I think I am gonna just re order a pixel9A to be safe. USD299 seems a decent price for it. I think the pixel does esim best for Android like fruit phones. Need full compatibility as it is for travelling.

Hi, I've bought the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G from SG mi.com soon after it launched, but the HyperOS version is still 1.0.7.0.UOPMIXM. Anyone experiencing the same situation?

I'm currently thinking of getting this phone as a upgrade Poco X3 Pro -> the problem about this phone is that it does not support the following option:
  1. 5G Network, currently stuck in 4G.
  2. On the home Wi-Fi it does not support up to Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7
  3. VolTE is actually not supported, I have to enter some kind of work around enable the calling function.
  4. I am actually considering between Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Xiaomi 14T pro.
  5. Also the display also doesn't work very well on certain lighting condition like you will turn darker even after I on the sunlight mode.
  6. Currently everything is good however I noticed some kind of lagliness when I try to spin up the keyboard.
  7. This is a very last good model of the last LCD product but I need to do an upgrade soon because of the following reason.

helping to do the migration to 14 Note...wow...for a $134 phone..really not bad...AMOLED ..solid feel. EOL of 2031 Jan ...probably have to change the battery at least once to really use till EOL! No brainer for old folks who use their phone for banking.

Update:

OCBC/DBS/UOB/Trust apps work with no issues. Fingerprint reader is fast.

Have not tested NFC or Singpass.

I am considering Note 14 pro + 5G as my second phone..
Didnt realise EOL for the basic Note 14 has longer EOL than the other more advance note 14s.

Main criteria for my second phone is just having decent camera (no need high end) and able to use Esim.
Of cos, longer battery life would be a welcome bonus..

How is the battery for note 14? I have a note 13 pro 5G and the battery is kinda lousy after slightly over a year of use...

battery capacity seems lower on the 5G models; so won't be a good comparison. 2029-1 EOL means 4 years of usage. I think it is decent?

I would recommend going for the 14 Pro + given photography is a priority.

15T/Pro and Redmi 14 wins!

Xiaomi’s longest-lasting phones in 2025: The smartest picks for update fans

For years, Xiaomi’s software updates were often described as a lottery — some devices received the latest HyperOS versions early, while others waited months. But since 2024, Xiaomi has shifted toward a transparent and structured policy. The company’s Trust Center now clearly lists every device’s official End-of-Life (EOL) date, giving users a reliable view of how long their phones will receive both Android and HyperOS updates.

This new six-year promise means Xiaomi users no longer need to wonder whether their device will be supported. For example, phones like the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro are guaranteed updates until September 2031 — ensuring four major Android upgrades (up to Android 19 / HyperOS 6) and six years of security patches.

Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro: Peak Performance Meets Long-Term Support

The Xiaomi 15T series is a top-tier recommendation for anyone who values both hardware and longevity. Both models debuted with Android 15 and HyperOS 2, and they are among the first to receive HyperOS 3 (Android 16) updates.

Key Specs of Xiaomi 15T Pro:

  • Display: 6.83-inch AMOLED, 144Hz, 2772×1280 resolution, 3200 nits peak brightness
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ (3nm)
  • Battery: 5500mAh, 90W wired, 50W wireless charging
  • Price: ~USD 1,200 (approx. 42,299 TL)
Xiaomi 15T (non-Pro) is the more practical choice. It offers slightly slower charging (67W) and a 120Hz screen instead of 144Hz and Dimensity 8400 Ultra but retains the same six-year update support for around USD 930 (approx. 32,599 TL).

For software enthusiasts, the 15T offers nearly identical longevity to the Pro at a much lower cost.

Redmi 15 Series: Budget Champions with 2031 EOL

Even Xiaomi’s entry-level Redmi 15 lineup is now included in the six-year support plan — a milestone in budget smartphone sustainability.

Redmi 15 (5G)

  • Display: 6.9-inch LCD, 144Hz, FHD+
  • Processor: Snapdragon 6s Gen 3
  • Battery: 7000mAh, 33W charging
  • Price: ~USD 330 (approx. 11,999 TL)
Redmi 15C (4G) and 15C 5G models are cheaper, priced around USD 200–230, but their 720p HD+ screens and entry-level chipsets limit long-term usability. While these phones will receive security patches until 2031, performance for modern apps may decline by 2029.

For families or parents needing reliability over power, these remain the most cost-effective options.

The Redmi Note 14 Series Dilemma

While the Redmi Note 14 (5G) and 14 Pro (5G) only promise updates until 2029, the Redmi Note 14 (4G) stands out as an unexpected gem. It’s officially covered under Xiaomi’s six-year program, making it an ideal midrange option.

Redmi Note 14 (4G)

  • Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED, 120Hz, 1800 nits peak brightness
  • Processor: MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra (6nm)
  • Battery: 5500mAh, 33W charging
  • Price: ~USD 380 (approx. 13,499 TL)
The Note 14 (4G) is a near-perfect middle ground between cost, performance, and longevity — ideal for users who want future-ready performance without overspending.

Still Worth It? Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro (EOL 2029)

Launched in 2024, the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro are still powerful but have shorter support lifespans (until 2029). The 14T Pro, priced at USD 960 (approx. 33,999 TL), even costs more than the newer 15T despite offering two fewer years of support.

However, the standard 14T, at USD 710 (approx. 24,989 TL), remains a reasonable mid-tier choice if you can compromise on longevity for cost savings.

Conclusion: Best Xiaomi Phones for Update Lovers (2025 Edition)

  • Budget Hero: Redmi Note 14 (4G) — affordable and future-proof for six years.
  • Family Pick: Redmi 15 (5G) — huge battery and excellent value for non-demanding users.
With Xiaomi’s new transparent update policy, 2025 marks the first time buyers can make an informed, long-term choice — from the premium Xiaomi 15T Pro to the affordable Redmi 15 lineup, there’s finally a Xiaomi phone for every kind of “update fanatic.”
