Ya, those shops should stop calling their malaysian set as local singapore set. It's misleading that buyers are thinking theat they are getting the exact same one in Singapore. Maybe just say cover by SG warranty.
Both my redmi, local bought came with 3 pins.

why are malaysian sets not considered export sets tho? and why is xiaomi sg covering their warranty? dont quite understand

used it for my g6 back then
the finger print scanner hole is abit too deep for fingerpeint unlock . . .

Ya that is 1 of my concern too... :(

Btw is the rear plate metal or plastic? I need something metal for my magnetic car holder. :)

My son's has this armor type with metal back plate for his Redmi 4 Prime.. Yes, it's thick, but fingerprint still can unlock.

as from their official website and from experiences from other uses/discussions in other threads, XM doesnt have an obligation to cover warranty if IMEI isnt showing Singapore...

thats only right i guess but why/how are the resellers claiming the sets will be covered? they went as far as to promised a refund if they arent.

lol it doesnt matter if its metal. even if it was, it would be aluminium, not steel.

No lost to them. Trouble on our side only.

The important question to ask XMSG is whether the specific seller is their Official Channel, cause I see in the previous email, even if the "Delivery Address" is not Singapore, XMSG will honour it IF it's sold by their Official Channel.

I asked b4, they told me china version but you have to treat it as no warranty as they do not have store in sg.
Their store is located in china.
I'm ok without warranty. just want to ensure that it is the newer camera instead of the older version.

Even the so called warranty set, dun seems to be Singapore but Malaysia set. There are chances that XM SG can reject the warranty too right?

older verison meaning note 5A? or note 5A prime? which i highly doubt so if they are selling those 2 phone at that price. even if at that price i also wont buy. :s8:

Like dat better for us to make firm decision to get those Local set from GT since the price difference is only $20 now (Before was $50)!

Edit : Hitec increased price by $30 too!

Now that the redmi note 6 pro (or whatever it is called) is imminent, I am sure xiaomi sg will drop their own retail price or maybe give $50 voucher? They did the same for the redmi note 4. Lowest it went was $169
