I managed to do a 1-to-1 exchange for the non-charging Ion. Thanks to the staff at M1 Bugis.

Regarding the SD card, I managed to use a Class 10 64GB on it (cost $122 at Challenger) No problem.

rofl 122$ for a class 10 64gb u paid too premium
now 64gb sandisk already. selling below $100

After using this phone for about 5 days, I think the only problems I have with it are the battery life and the earphone cover. Drains super fast for the battery life. The earphone cover seems a little flimsy to me and am extra careful when I'm listening to music. Using more of my bluetooth earphones these days.

Anyone could recommend how to conserve battery life for this phone? Should I invest in getting a portable charger? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated :)

try to seasons the battery first. try do drain till 10% or flat then charge back

and. common sense of using android applies
kill the process if u don't need it
and check if u got any appls running back kground drain data

swrich to 2g
lower down brightness

in the end is all due to user fault mostly if battery drain badly

portable charger is a plus to have if u heavy user and no way to charge it

good luck have fun

Thanks bro. I'm a noob with Android, so can I ask, how do you check if there are apps running in the background? I only know the iOS method but not Android. Thanks again!

Settings/Apps/Running - List of apps running.
Press & hold 'home' button - recent apps - swipe left or right to close it.
Settings/developer options/background process limit - no. of processes allowed to run at one time.

As pker88 mentioned, you need to let the battery "burn in" for a couple of weeks before it stabilizes.

The earphone cover flap is the reason why I didn't buy the Acro S. I often listen to music using my phone, and I can imagine the flimsy flap would come off in a few months' time.

No need to compare nokia, does not even have android phones & different hardware levels. Meaningless to compare on unequal grounds or only camera performance on different os. :D

Nokia is sticking to Win 8 phone which will see their hardware side on par with current high end sets this year.

Got it yesterday.

Very impressed with the crystal sharp and highly detailed display. In spite of the aged Snapdragon S3 SoC used, its UI performance is comparable to the HTC OneX I had owned and the Galaxy S3 I tried briefly. The phone's width is just nice for a comfortable grip with my thumb reaching all corners of the screen. The water resistance capability is an icing on the cake.

At least I can tell you the 3 soft buttons are more responsive than the ones on xs. And flaps on the phone because its water-resistant, unlike xs. It comes with version 4.0 onboard, basically a clean installation of ICS which means less issues compared to phones upgrading to 4.0. Not to mention the material feels better than that of xs, IMO.

I believe smartphones that are recently released with ICS out-of-the-box are highly optimized for the OS.. so, for those that are released with GB, don't expect better performance/battery-life if the upgrade comes subsequently.
Of course, it's a different story if the upgrade is through rooting..

BTW, loved the stand/charging cradle that comes with the Acro S package (I think this is not included for Xperia S). Courtesy of the side charging contact points on the phone and good design of the cradle, charging the phone is now so convenient and graceful. The USB input on the cradle works with iPhone power adaptor but not with the computer.

Photo image quality seemed good but speed of auto-focus+capture though fast, is still noticeably slower than HTC OneX. The camera options available is mind-boggling.. very similar to those found in my HXV9.

Battery life is average.. after some downloading (~50MB), Surfing and music playing for around 2hrs, it dropped to 75% charge.
