anyone using a 32gb samsung micro sd card? Compatibility issues with sony phones? Seems to be one of the cheapest around among the established brands.

I bought samsung micro sd plus cl10 16gb. So far so good.

Thanks good to know. I see qoo selling for $30 for a 32gb c10 sd plus (under bizgram) and most feedback were for samsung phone users.

Will wait for the PC show in early june to grab one if the price is good.

Some corrections on the bolded part above: It can happen anywhere on the screen, in any app.

Video of the problem:

Recorded a new video to share the issue. Unlike the earlier video, this time my Xperia SP was tested naked without screen protector nor TPU case.

Details:
- Sony Xperia SP C5303
- Stock firmware 12.0.A.1.257, not rooted. Bootloader locked.
- No screen protector/screen guard installed

Problem:
The touchscreen will intermittently misbehave when you put the phone down on a surface. The chances of it misbehaving seem to depend on:
1. The material of the surface it is resting on.
2. The location (eg. It fails more consistently in the kitchen than in the living room).
3. Whether a screen protector is installed (Having one installed will make the issue more likely to happen. NOTE: In this video, the phone was tested WITHOUT any screen protectors).

I believe my set is faulty because the touchscreen is malfunctioning without any third party accessories installed (like screen protectors and cases).

Took it down to Bishan Sony service centre earlier, and they quoted me 2 weeks for repair because "this is a new model"! My phone is only 7 days old and they want to keep it for 2 weeks?? :s27::s27:

Another user in India is also seeing touchscreen issues with his Xperia SP. His video was taken with a screen protector installed. Link: WP20130512_005 - YouTube

Thanks for sharing. Same firmware as yours. Have a matte screen protector mounted on mine.

I think your set is faulty. Just downloaded the screen tester app and tested. Used all 10 fingers to touch and it registered 10. Then followed by running my finger along the screen randomly. The circle follows the finger accurately. Also tested on my mattress (not foam) and it works well.

2 weeks is rather long...Bug them for a one to one exchange if possible,

When having the trial set, I am using the phone naked without any screen protector and no problem with the touch screen.

Take note that Xperia SP is the first Sony Smartphone without the default Anti-Shatter film glued on compared to other Xperia Models. =:p

Been using the SP for the last 2 weeks.. no issue with touch sensitivity.. the original screen protector is still on..

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm convinced already that my set is a lemon.

Excluding myself, 2 users (including the guy in India I mentioned about earlier) have reported this issue in the Sony forums, so perhaps a small batch of Xperia SP is affected. Link: Xperia SP Display Problem!

When u mentioned "software calibration", are you talking about the "white balance" under display settings?

should be a lemon set
since xperia S yellow screen until now XZ dust in lens and now SP touch screen issue their QC is not as good as suppose to be when SONY was with ericsson

but at least now with SONY their updates is faster little bit

but SONY bishan should stock up more parts to repair as waiting for months is un-acceptable.
