2/28 is their public holiday. beware of crowds and traffic jam.

Also cross your fingers for any rain that would take out the cherry blossom.

for the traffic jam, take mrt to shilin then take any bus to yamingshan(90% of buses there go on yms). because comes public holiday, regular sedans(including taxi) will have controlled access up to the mountain, the only ones that can come and go freely are locals with a pass and buses.
