Booked a trip to Taipei from 7 March to 14 March. Wondering whether Yangmingshan will still have cherry blossoms in bloom. Is it worth while to stay overnight in Yangmingshan or just do day trip?

Hi taediumv, im going to YMS too on 17th and hopefully can catch some sakura on trees lets keep finger cross cause I Came across a feature article on Taipei City Government website asf
"In light of the early blooms brought about by the climate changes this year, the 2014 Yangmingshan Flower Season will kick off on January 29 and last through March 9.".

Im doing a day trip up by cab from Jiantan station and hiking my way down to Beituo for the hot spring.Thereafter take the MRT from Xinbeituo to Taipei Shilin Night Market .

The weather at YMS isnt dat bad today.. Normal windbreaker should suffice.. In fact the whole of YMS, Beitou, Dan Shui is probably around 20 Deg C for the most part of today.. Normal sweater or windbreaker should be ok.. Saw a group wearing short sleeves and berms with slippers at YMS.. Lol..

Today though is the first day I perspired in my 4 days here..

The flower festival should be over soon, caught the flowers but they look like they're withering soon..
