Anyone been to both? I am thinking which to visit and what these 2 mountains have to offer in terms of activities or sights.

I was first drawn to in the clouds look at Lalashan but am not sure now for my trip in March doe to road closures.

I have 2 young kids with me and they'll like to see flowers (don't have to be Cherry Blossoms), what would you recommend?

only been to YMS, it's huge so not able to cover all yet. they have flower festival, grassland, calla lily farm. so plenty of activities for all depending on season. i saw able to see sea of cloud too but not sure which area of YMS. probably have to self drive for viewing clouds.

lalashan looks interesting for me if there's accommodation up that, as need to stay for opportunity to catch sea of clouds.

If you want to see flowers, you can just go to 士林官祗。I was there just yesterday. It is like the flowers dome of our GBTB but much bigger, open air, and is free. Now has 梅花 in Taiwan.

I also went YMS two days ago. Very easy to access by public transport. From 剑潭MRT Station, take R5(红5)bus (NT15) all the way to the 总站, From there, take 108 (NT15) to hop on hop off the various attractions you would like to visit. I only managed to cover two which are 二子坪 and 擎天岗。I would say they are really nice.

Lalasha I have not been before but from Google map it seems harder to access.

Hope this helps!

Dear friends;
Yanminshan NP has many things you can do. Flower season are all year round, for example cherry blossom will be in March and Calla Lily season in March and April. Many volcano spots and free foot hot spring in the park. If you really want to see sea of cloud, Cingjing Farm and Wulin, which is located at 3,275 M sea level, are the best place to see the view. Cinjing Farm has many kid friendly activities, like chocolate DIY and sheep feeding. These places are easy to go by charter service and save time and money. In case you need the service, David offers decent service and reasonable price. David Whatsapp:+886931626577.

Hi, for the sea of clouds, can it be viewed only early on the morning? I intend to drive so it's no issue for me to travel around the mountains.

And anyone know the cherry blossom schedule for Taiwan this year? I think it's not a particularly cold year and the bloom shouldn't last til late Mar right?
