Yes, I visit Japan every year and will always need some yen. YouTrip and Wise are easily accepted in the cities but in the countryside I have encountered several cash only eateries. I feel more comfortable having a few thousand worth of yen on me.

123.23 now, let's see if FX market rates can break 124. Currently at 123.5-ish levels, it has been rising since last Fri.
