i wanna change from sing dollars to yen......look at buy or sell? and issit higher the amount better?

Easy, say $1 buys you jpy88, u want more jpy for your $1 right, so the higher the better. Jpy90 better than jpy88.
Just calculate how much u are getting per $1 and it's easier to rationalize.

look at the 'sell'.. ie. how much they selling to u. it is always the less favourable of the 2 numbers.

if the display is 1000yen to 11.XX SGD, then u wan the number to be smaller coz u want to pay less for the same 1000yen. usually money changer display it is way.

if it is 1 SGD to XXyen, then u wan the number to be bigger, coz u wan to get more yen for the same $1 u pay.

My thoughts is that don't change too much for shopping... Many places have 5% discount if pay by visa or unionpay. So u still get a good deal by charging to your card. Don't need to unnecessarily stress over this.

Yodobashi camera got 6% off visa, on top of the 8% tax rebate. Just went Tokyo a week ago.

I thought it's only 5% off, 6% seems to be for BIC Camera.

I can't recall exactly but yodobashi definitely one of them. Labi also. There're more.
Unionpay has more, even oioi also has

Labi even has discounts for other cards like Amex and MasterCard. At least for the Shinjuku and ikebukuro one that I went to in Jan.
