How do you calculate the difference between if changed at 11.3 & now (11.8)?

Like in that sense, how much we "lost"

You can't think of it as lost. I been to Japan many times. Even the rates now is much much better than previous years like 2013 or 2012. Even start of 2014 also don't have such good rates.

1sgd to 15 yen. that rates is impossible. when i went 2012, it was around 1sgd to 60 yen.

Those who know the market well, is it better to change now for your trip in Dec/Jan or better to wait a while? Wanted to buy when it reached 10.8x but the nearby money changers all sold out.

I not sure if it's going up at how much but all I know the cap will be around 83++. If can change at 86 it's not so bad already.

it will probably drop alittle bit as the markets are rallying from the sell off yesterday.. so have to see if the market can recover from this or will plunge further after the relief..

TOKYO--A close adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tuesday that the Bank of Japan should consider additional monetary easing if the yen rises sharply, threatening the "Abenomics" growth plan.

"Japan doesn't need to react to every change in stock prices, but if this turmoil causes the yen to strengthen sharply, it probably should consider taking monetary policy measures," Koichi Hamada, a Yale University professor emeritus, told The Wall Street Journal in an interview. He declined to say at what yen level the BOJ should act.

yeah. not going worry so much! in the past i went japan that time seen before 60-70 for 1sgd rate before. That time also don't feel painful in terms of spending

this time should be fine =:p

Yeah, back during the end 2011 for some reason Japanese yen was abnormally strong even though it was after the touhoku earthquake. I think I bought yen at 17sgd to 1k yen before...

From then on I decided to dollar average down and buy when jpy goes down. Just buy a few hundred k when ard raffles area. So I already have my war funds ready by early jun though my trip is next apr. sucks that the rate didn't hit 92 at the arcade changers before this yuan depreciate ****.

That said, jpy is still around 120yen to usd so I don't think Kuroda will take action unless jpy strengthens against usd and yuan by a lot (10-15%). Also sgd is weakening with the rest of asean currencies against the big 4 + yuan and usd is expected to rise so I would not try to time the market at the moment. If you have deeyor's friends' advice then it's a different thing of course :)
