Hmmm Is it really that common to up a few times in short span of an hour or so? I haven't encounter b4 lah tbh. Usually the Rates change between days or at least maybe every few hours. Not like theirs from 13.00 to 13.018 to 13.03 within 1+hour. All other shops were 13.03-13.04 all along. Just felt cheated. Hahahaha.

They attracted the lunch crowd to their line and up their rate when nearing their turns. U don't see other shops doing the same. I left n changed at other shop anw.

Anw, no biggie. Which was y I deleted my original post, bt u quoted it at the same time. Hahaha.

It's not common but it can happen when currency fluctuates quite a bit and the market direction is unclear, so the money changers have a very limited margin for error.

Experienced such changing of rates while i was queueing, a few times before. Yah. Sometimes i change queue too cos buay song.

then i must be quite heng. 1st time encountering this too bad i was alone till my fren back, else i wld hv left when my fren told me another shop rate similar. only saw the rate changed when nearing my turn...

LOL it happens when I change in Jul, the rate increase after I change and I think those at the back must be sianzz.

Normally what I do is compare the diff and Q, sometimes I pay a few dollars more for a shorter Q and avoid rate changes or No stock.
But i believe those offer competitive rate with long Q if they increase also much better than most of the rest.
Eg Tuesday I posted lowest 13.118 & 13.12, alot are selling at 13.2x to 13.33.

The rates is also reflective of how much cash on hand that changer has, and there hedging strategy. Money changers are in the business of currency arbitrage - the official exchange rate is merely a reference point.

It is very expensive to change in Japan. The rates are very unfavourable compared to what our local money changers offer.
And its not easy to find also.

Just change some at 1.289 at Arcade L2.if drop to 1.27 will change more hehe..
