change bit by bit coz the exchange rate fluctuating a lot... u dunno whether yen will go up or down.

no use changing in bulk coz u most likely will not change enuf to enjoy a discount from the money changer

Unless you live or work near a Money changer, otherwise there is transaction costs/ travel time every time you keep going back to change.
