Hi guys! This is my first Japan trip and will be going with gf. Please see my suggested itinerary below. Feel free to comment.

29 Nov
Arrive Narita Airport at 0800H & transfer to Hotel Wing International Korakuen by train.
Walk around Koishikawa Korakuen Garden & Tokyo Dome
Ginza in the afternoon
Tokyo Tower in the evening

30 Nov
Day trip to Gotemba Premium Outlets

1 Dec
Doraemon Museum
Ramen Museum
Cup Noodles Museum

2 Dec
Day trip to DisneySea

3 Dec
Ueno Park
Sensoji Temple
Asasuka Shopping streets
Tokyo Skytree

4 & 5 Dec
Walk around Shibuya, Harajuku & Shinjuku

6 Dec
Akihabara

7 & 8 Dec
No plans yet

9 Dec
Depart Narita at 0930H

I noticed I have more time than places i want to go, which may be good as my trip can be more relaxing than rushing. I decided not to visit the lakes near Mt Fuji as the well known Onsen Resorts are already fully booked.

Are there other places worth visiting?

Do I need to purchase the JR Rail Pass? Or regular train tickets are cheaper based on my itinerary?

Thanks!

Regards,

Regards,

You can make day trips to Kamakura or Nikko just to name a few places outside Tokyo that are popular with day trippers...or u can also visit Odaiba....

The answer to the second qn is no....JR Pass are only practical for purchase if you intend to do long distance travel that requires Shinkansen to cut down on travelling time

How about a day trip to hakone ? You can still see Mt Fuji from there and enjoy an onsen as well.

I don't think they are fully booked, just that it is still too early for booking. Typically some Japanese hotels only accept reservation 4 months before actual dates.

You can try this hotel at Kawaguchiko

Kozantei Ubuya (Japan/Fujikawaguchiko-machi): See 119 Reviews and 210 Photos - TripAdvisor
???????????????????????????

From what i see, they only accept reservation till sept. So u need to wait 2 more months before they accept for Nov

You can consider Nikko. Toshogu Shrine very pretty! :o

Unless you travel out of Tokyo by Shinkansen, JR pass will not be worth it.

[how about visiting hakone or kawaguchiko and stay a night there since u are going all the way to gotemba? like wat anyhowsaysay mentioned, the accommodations have not opened for booking yet]

1 Dec
Doraemon Museum
Ramen Museum
Cup Noodles Museum

2 Dec
Day trip to DisneySea

3 Dec
Ueno Park
Sensoji Temple
Asasuka Shopping streets
Tokyo Skytree

4 & 5 Dec
Walk around Shibuya, Harajuku & Shinjuku
[going to be very rush to have all 3 places in a day. will be better to spread them out to 2 days. e.g harajuku+shibuya; then shinjuku with maybe ikebukuro]

6 Dec
Akihabara
[big fan of anime? if so maybe u wanna visit nakano broadway as well.]

7 & 8 Dec
No plans yet
[how about visiting odaiba? or if u stay a night in hakone and spread shinjuku to another day, then u would have any extra days left]

9 Dec
Depart Narita at 0930H

[tokyo tower? tsukiji market?]

Do I need to purchase the JR Rail Pass? Or regular train tickets are cheaper based on my itinerary?
[no need for JR pass since u are not travelling long distance on shinkansen. u can consider getting the NEX+suica or keisei skyliner+metro pass to get from narita to tokyo. if u are going hakone, can consider the hakone free pass]

Thanks!
