Means they have no respect for you. And that means you are behkan to not command any respect. Need to learn EQ and communication skills. I have no problem getting respect from people in my workplace last time.

usually such people will not listen to other ideas , only want others to listen to them and follow them.
in such case, going forward, any meeting, just keep quiet...dont even bother to bring up suggestions.

Not exactly word, but better sentences to tell the citizens they are wrong and whatever they say is of no use.
