are blue chips for long term?

Provided you are not concentrated in a few counters only.
Just look at JNJ, PEP, KO, LMT, MO, T, MMM, BDX etc...
If one had invested in these blue chips, even including a few that fails, it's still gonna work out fine over the long term.

the saddest thing about trading is you have to be young to be able to succeed at it,go watch million dollar traders.the main reason is because all these kind of activities like poker and financial gambling requires a huge stomach for risk which older people lack and the ability to take brutal punishment on your mental state of mind without losing control of ur emotions and dumping your load prematurely.most older people are highly conservative and have a low tolerance and stamina for risk and stressful activities.

and yet most of young are going to end up as failures anyway because frankly trading is a waste of time, trading is a myth, finding a successful trader is as rare as finding a unicorn,i have yet to see conclusive proof that unlike poker,a winning trader exist and that his knowledge and methods could be scientifically and mathematically proven and replicated to a large extend.

awww why is he ban. Trading is not a game of age, but a game of intelligence and patience. Whoever that doesnt exhibit these character, its better to let go and work on other things.

Damn so many unicorn here haha.

Which bluechip have more potential
I have 1k plus to start with

Are you looking locally?

The safest and simplest is STI ETF which is ES3.

Others like Singtel, OCBC, DBS, UOB, Keppel Corp, Comfort, SATS have all fallen somewhat. You can't just buy because it's bluechips, and it's good to ask which have more potential but it's even better to ask and find it out yourself.

There are many ways to do analysis. Each person would tell you a different thing, the silverlake supporters would tell you it's cheap to buy now, while the other side would say it's a risky deal because there might be a issue with their accounting.

You have to decide for yourself. Learn the basics first, read some books. Learn as much as you can about the company you are interested in and pick them to make your own portfolio.

1k+ isn't a lot especially because many bluechips cost a few hundreds for 100 shares already. But you still can diversify into 2-3 counters using SCB for cheap brokerage fees.
