What are your diehard PC components brand that you'll never compromise in any build?

For me, is:

PSU
Seasonic - any 80+ Gold or higher models.

GPU
Nvidia - EVGA (sad, no more liao 😭). MSI Gaming X (IMHO usually highest boost clocks with excellent cooling vs others in the same tier price class).
AMD - Sapphire (IMHO they and Powercolor typically make the best Radeon GPUs but my personal preference is Sapphire).

Case
Lian Li Lancool - only the mesh models. No fish tank style for me.

AIO
Artic Freezer - won't even consider other brands. Their cooling performance results speak for themselves.
=========================================================================================

I'm brand flexible with other components.

Mine is very similar to yours haha

PSU
ASUS or Seasonic

GPU
Nvidia - ASUS because they're the only ones that allow changing cooler, then Zotac because they don't charge premium also 5 year warranty in SG

Motherboard - ASUS, they're the only ones that make enthusiast board for both platform. Even Z890 continues to be updated regularly while ASRock kinda just gave up.

Case
Corsair or Lian Li - I hate fish tank.

AIO
Arctic Freezer - Good price and they aren't one of the 100s that uses Asetek.

I compromise every build, brand doesn't matter whichever is more value for money.

For PSU I have used many brands including iCute, VIOS, armageddon, coolermaster, aigo, superflower, fsp.
The brand that have died on me is coolermaster and superflower. Aigo's power did reduce after 1 year but still usable by underclocking rx7800xt. Currently use gamemax.

gpu the best is Asus because its bracket is 302 stainless steel. every other brands will rust with Singapore's 90% humidity. Still, currently use palit because cheap and 5 years warranty.

Motherboard I have used biostar, ECS, MSI, asrock. My ECS from 2013 still going strong. motherboard if can afford is Asus. Otherwise Asrock is good enough. Brand doesn't matter too much, its the bios support.

Case can just reuse motherboard cardboard box. Or reuse previous case, as long as matx, all the same.

No brand loyalty. Only what best fits my needs.

Seasonic or whatever doesn't mean that each and every one of their product is good.

Same thing for "lousy" brands. Doesn't mean they have no good products at all.

I'm a supporter of whomever can give the best prices for the performance.

This is why for components like ram or ssd, I don't look at "brand names". I look at what controller and flash memory being used.

For the example, the newer crucial e100 is one of the worst SSDs I've ever seen. And it's from crucial.

I would rather buy a ssd which uses the same combination of proven flash and controller like what nm790 uses. Orico has a model which is like that but costs so much cheaper beacuse orico and I do not mind trying because I trust 232 layer YMTC tlc + map 1602a, not orico.

hmm i think both e100 & nm790 are different class product target different consumer segment, nevertheless i get what you mean.

I don't really have a preferred brand for MB/CPU/RAM.. I used to work in analytics and the failure rate is more relevant to the quality of the particular model. Next, it also comes down to which models having better value than others, over the years no brands have any consistency on this matter.

When it comes to PSU, if i must pick a brand i will prefer SuperFlower because their variance in product quality is not that wide (between worst and best), so people who blind pick and wanna just ask for brand preference, i will tell them the safe option.

For SSD, majority of SSD failures are from those cheap + fast ssds (shouldn't be a surprise). My choice comes down to WD Proprietary and Samsung Proprietary SSDs. If you bother flashing Hynix firmware then i recommend it as well.

As for casing, i think Lian Li is the best right now, everytime i built a rig with a Lian Li case, my clients will be very impressed with the value, quality and performance of the case.

For controller, it depends what the market has to offer, right now 8bitdo ultimate 2 is undoubtedly the best option, comes with TMR sticks , great latency on the stick and buttons, tons of features, also 8bitdo is known for durability so I'm glad they moved away from the retro (feeling) nonsense.

As for GPU, i think coil whine is the worst thing to have on a GPU, and unfortunately ASUS is a big culprit here, had so many GPUs return because of it, and most are from ASUS, no idea why anyone would pay a premium for it.

Case: Fractal Design.

.....That's about it really.

Considering how much quality varies between brands/vendors in every CPU/GPU generation, brand loyalty in PC electronics will only shortchange yourself.

If you asked me 10 years ago, I will say MSI & G skill.

But nowadays I don't really care about the branding anymore. Good enough quality and within budget more important.

Only for SSD i will still use more reputable like WD, Samsung, Seagate.

PSU: Seasonic, FSP, Superflower

Gpu: AMD, only Sapphire is the best. Only get other brands if no Sapphire card.

Case: Whichever looks nice and cheap

AIO: Nope, water + electronic equipment = no go, + need to worry more i.e, Pump issue, coolant issue, etc.
