thats why having a 34 inch ultrawide 21:9 is way better for my use case than a 32 inch 16:9 4k monitor or a 42 inch 16:9 4k monitor. Need to keep looking up and down. No good for gaming especially fps games.

whereas for 21:9, my peripheral view extends out to the left and right so i can get a glimpse of enemies that others cant see on a 16:9. i also make my game HUD/radar more centralise that when i look in the middle of my ultrawide, i can clearly see the radar at the top left, instead of the extreme left of the monitor. And i can split screen for work usage to 2 windows.

From TS's link. Professional esporrts players favor 24 inches monitor as the sweet spot.
As for me, sitting about a meter away from the monitor, i realise that 20-21.5 inches at 1280x720p, 16.9
is the best for me. My brain and eyes don't feel comfortable with monitor larger or smaller than the above. :)

Bigger is not always better. At the same resolution, a bigger screen just stretches the image, and can magnify visual artifacts. You can get around the problem by bumping up resolution, but you will again run into an issue where the hardware just can't support the resolution.

Go look look see see..but also must take note if the environment, eg Prism store is dark dark one, make their screen pop out a bit more.. While others are displayed in bright areas...then u see OLED, the lush colours even in the brightest room, then kena seduced...have to resist. Also take note of your table size and if u are going to install monitor stand....

I was so intriged by the the LG42C2 based on reviees and reddit feedback, until i go to a store, stand my usual viewing distance for a fee minutes, stare at the screen then realise its a bit too big as a main screen... ...perfect for a second screen, install above ur main screen for some games and movies...

27 inch 1440p 144hz monitor ideal spot for me cos of space constraint on my table.
If next upgrade in future, hopefully can still find 27inch or 28inch 4k 144hz monitor.

i still dont understand how ppl can enjoy a 2nd screen above the first. Must tilt head and watch the content on the 2nd screen above ? Isnt that uncomfortable?

Side by Side i still can understand but on top means got to recline on seat so that head is facing the above 2nd screen.. if not means must tilt neck upwards to view it.

Usually is watch its from bed or sofa in ur bedroom... That was my plan anyway... End up with side by side horizontal (vertical also too tall)

24 inch is the sweet spot imo for pc gaming. More affordable also.

My main screen is 27 1440p, gaming is fine for me, but not enough for work when I need to cross reference documents. Tried a 2nd 27 1440p monitor vertically displayed, end up needs to keep on looking up and down, neck strain.

Now thinking of using those 10 or 13 inch portable display and place it at the side.

i tried before on 34", 32" and now back to 27".

27" 2K is the comfort spot.. not too big not too small, useful for work as well.

if 27 inch, i will need 2 monitors so that can multitask different windows. if 34 inch, can split screen.

My setup, ~90cm from screen, 34" UWQHD 1500R is perfect for me. i believe can still squeeze in 2-4" UWQHD within comfort
Previously was with 24"+27". Anything >32" 16:9 will be too large at least for me
