Youtube app lagging on Iphone 6+

Never had issues on my Note 3 so i dont know is it an issue with iphone or iOS or youtube app. Even for a short 5 min video it will lag and take time to load. This is on my home wifi.

With note 3 i could even "fast forward" a 2 hour movie and its still smooth with no lag or loading. Anyone else with same issue?

Looks like it's because of the wifi issue on 8.1

Its happening to my iPad running 8.1 as well. No issue with Tab s so not WiFi issue..

Definitely not issue with my router as no issues at all with my Note 3. I was kinda shocked that even a full length movie loaded in practically no time and I could move the slider any where with no lag or loading.

But for a sad little 5 min clip its lagging and sometimes can't even load on my 6+. I started using it when it was on iOS 8 and later updated to 8.0.2 and now its on 8.1. Had the same issue with all 3 versions of iOS.

8.1. has fixed for me the problem of my iPhone not remembering my frequent wifi networks e.g. home and work. Now it CAN remember and auto logs on. But the Youtube issue still persists.

Sigh! Wish Apple will fix basic issues like this. No point adding bells and whistles when the most basic stuff doesn't even work properly!

I think you should be blaming Youtube for not updating their app to work properly with 8.

The iPhone 6 and 6 plus are very sensitive to router settings. I was having problems even when doing basic surfing on safari. After adjusting the settings on zhone it was much better, although not perfect.

I then decided to use my time capsule as a router and Wi-Fi works great now. My YouTube streams great.

For a start use wpa2 and 20mhz. It helped make my 6 plus's Wi-Fi become useable.
