Youtube Lags the Entire Computer

Hi Guys,

Need some help and here is the situation.

I just done up my new DIY rig. It was a clean installation and there are no programs in it. I just installed some drivers for the hardwares only.

I noticed the texts that I have been typing is very laggy. So I went tried to pinpoint what application is causing this lag.

After much trial and error. I noticed that the lag seems to be caused by youtube. Everytime I play a youtube video in one of the tabs in my browser. I will experience much laggyness in typing any text. Be it in notepad or in browser address bars or user ID and password fields.

I have tried playing youtube videos in Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera. All of them gives me the same result.

As this is a new PC. I have already installed the most up to date drivers for my GPU etc.

While doing the above test. I opened up my task manager to see the resources of things like CPU and Ram. However non of the resources seemed to be used up much since I dont think there are much applications running in the background.

Ram has been running below 20%, CPU below 10%, GPU below 10% etc.

The specs of my pc is
Ryzen 1700
G.SKILL TridentZ 32GB 3200Mhz F4-3200C14D-32GTZ
Samsung 960 Pro 512GB
Gigabyte AB350N Wifi Gaming
Gigabyte GTX1080 Windforce OC

Hope that somebody can help shed some light on this. I would like to be able to play youtube videos while doing other work.

I just found out what is the real issue that is causing the Lag.

Maybe will start a new thread for it.

The real issue is My Bluetooth speaker causing the lag.

Both my keyboard and speakers are connect to the PC via Bluetooth.

When I play music using my speakers. There is significant lag.

I'm thinking maybe its because they fighting each other for bluetooth Bandwidth???

Anyway to solve this?

Why can't you just plug in the cable to your sound socket?

Install latest Bluetooth driver from your motherboard website see how.

Switch to cabled speakers. Or switch the inputs to wireless rf.

I'd say Bluetooth inputs are still inferior to rf cousins. There are still some nagging problems here and there even with bt 4. For example accessing bios, wake on hibernate, key lag and stutter etc.

And Bluetooth speakers? They bypass any sound card you may have on the system because the input to the speakers is digital and the on board dac converts it to analogue.

Take your pick. Multiple bt devices is a bad idea.

multiple bluetooth devices so close together is an extremely bad idea. bluetooth devices will interfere with each other. since this is your work pc, you do not need a bluetooth keyboard. change it to a wired one or get the RF ones i.e with a dongle

Disable hardware acceleration on chrome? My YouTube used to cause the whole system to crash, but after disabling it, I can do multiple tasks.

No lol they don't fight each other. There are 79 bluetooth radio channels and all your bluetooth device do frequency hopping to avoid interference

I don't use much Bluetooth devices, but I recall it being fairly slow in transfer rate. Transferring music to a speaker depending on the quality may likely saturate the transfer rate.

Thanks for all your inputs. Sorry I did not log in to see the replies in the past few days.

I agree with RF seemingly better than Bluetooth. But I don't think there are any ways to convert my existing keyboard or speakers to RF right? I need to change them entirely right?

I have already downloaded the most updated drivers for my motherboard bluetooth already.

And the reason why I am using bluetooth for these is because.

1) I didn't know using multiple bluetooth equipments will have such an issue.
2) I purchased HHKB Bluetooth version cos I didnt like wires and I always put my keyboard on my lap while my legs are crisscrossed at the side of my table. lol. Need to often change different postures cos too many hours sitting infront my pc.
3) My speakers are on bluetooth because the speakers are located behind me. It seems to be the best place for speakers in my room at the moment.

So if I'm not wrong. The only way to solve this is either changing my keyboard or speakers to the wired versions right? There is no way to either increase my bluetooth bandwidth or seperate them on different frequencies so they dont interfere with each other right?

However, I have followed the video and it seems like my motherboard's realtek onboard wifi do not have that option. Do you think bluetooth collaboration is only for Broadcom wifi?

It either does not have this option, or maybe it is being listed as another name, or being listed elsewhere rather than the said location.

Your motherboard supposed to have Intel Wifi.

I've tried BT 2.0-4.1 speakers and earphones. The audio drops for unknown reasons on Windows, Android and IOs with the bt device as the only connected device.

I've given up on BT audio for the time being. Maybe 5.0 will improve things.

Hi Blindaim, yes the wifi is a intel chip. It says that I already have the most updated driver. And there isn't an option for bluetooth collaboration.
