A snapshot of my SG portfolio from Stocks café : From 2008 to 2021

Time-weighted Returns (including Dividends & Fees) :

Overall123.20%64.50%

XIRR (including Dividends & Fees) & Capital Flow:

Overall7.09%

This is my current asset allocation . I need to reduce my cash allocation and move them to my global stock global allocation. I am also currently in the process of reducing and reallocating my SG stocks allocation as well.

Made a few mistakes and learned from them. Current aim is to increase my Global stock allocation thru ETF's .

You have been investing since 2008 so why is your cash portion 42%? that is really large amount of cash to horde.

Esp when inflation is getting higher and bank interest are dismal at the moment

I was in his shoes unfortunately having cash component as high as 20+% but bank interest was a around 2% back then

After the 2020 sale, I am 'cash poor'. I've only recently rebuilt my cash up to about 5% of LNW.

In 2008, I was saving for a condo so I was actually cash rich during that time. So when the stock market crashed, I used up my cash and CPF to buy super cheap dividend stocks.

I started around end 2018 and I think I'm still holding around 70% cash. Just find myself lack of the courage to pump 50% cash into equities. Cos it seems I kind if jinxed the stock. Those that I thot of buying when price is low and my friend said risky, ended up did not buy and all go to ath. Those that I bought, look ok but ended up go down further. 🤷

Thanks. Yes, but this is mainly because the base is 1m and close to half of it is new savings. So markets gains are only 7%. This year I got a 1 time 5 yr completion bonus of 1 month salary from my company and also annual bonus of 1 month salary was paid out in April. So the 1st 5 months looks good in terms of new savings. But that wont continue for the rest of the year.

I am negative cash, have been reducing the negative amount these few months to bring myself back to positive.

I am just the opposite of u, 86.7% into equities. too crazy about investing in equities and faced a few cashflow probs recently. not enough cash to deposit new brokers for free shares, and to opt for po. now i am slowly saving up more cash. i tink u r fine with 70% cash if they give good returns (i.e. bank accounts with high int) . hehe

Just buy the main index lor, be it S&P 500 or Nasdaq.

I bought QQQ just before the Sept'20 mini crash and look stupid. Just 9 mths later, look where QQQ is now.....

If you don't have strong conviction about the stock to own then buy index. Everytime it drop, buy some.

Yeah, now trying to move all into the index etf. Just that I'm just kind of slow, maybe just need to close my eyes and whack when see a sea of red.

IBKR margin account is your best friend, USD margin is 1.6% for <100k, 1.1%>100k. Borrow first think later.
