looking at my tracker again, hit 1.2mil networth, so happy.

Realized that i need to swap out of equities.

. swap out to complete quota on SSB
. bought SGS bonds expiring in 2025 and 2027 betting on interest moving down.
. in SRS, retaining the only equities left in my portfolio, ES3. need to watch if STI is keeping up, i did a calc, it gained YoY 7% - 8% this year, if dividends are included.

Why do you need to swap out of equities

Why do you need to swap out of equities
bonds have good coupon rate now and im betting for rates to drop, so if it succeeds i get capital gains on the bonds if not i lock in the current interest rates for the next 2 yrs . For the SSB maxed out quota, i looking to get a family car, but unsure if prices will go up or down. so need something semi liquid to use when the price is right and the interest rate is acceptable to me.

so no point using existing cashflow to fund new bond purchase as the quantum will be very small, (ie monthly cash surplus) so better to swap out equities to bonds.

Maybe he was spending 10m a year. Who knows what do rich people spend their money on?

Even for more "normal" folks here for say spend 200 to 300k a year, how much is realistically enough at 50 years old?
Ego is the closest to the truth. Hedge fund managers are actually quite normal ppl like you and me.

You don’t see equities going up more than your bond interest or bond price appreciation?

Yesterday was slightly red so I took the opportunity yesterday to do my June DCA of VWRD, VUSD, VHYD, VUKE , VDPX.

In this market red days don't last long and it seems that every red day is followed by several green days. Quite scary to buy at these elevated levels which is why I am not stock picking at these prices, instead just buy ETF.... 😅

Can't you automate the purchase? I am using IBKR recurring order. But since it doesn't allow IWDA, I switched to SWRD for monthly DCA.

I guess still prefer to press buy for these ETFs.

The only one I automate is FSMOne RSP for China/HK ETFs - so that I don't see how much money I am losing 😰

This is Poems.

I like dark theme. But you can change to light theme by going to your profile, the cog icon settings, general, Theme.

Lol... there's no 'swing'....I sell based on my personal price target I've set for them and the amount of profit I want to realize per quarter. There are no 'grand strategy' and I am not a day trader (I despise them in fact 😂)... it's just dumb luck for me most of the time....but hey, at least Im glad I don't have dunning Kruger effect. It can be very easy to fall into a hole thinking all the profit I've gained so far is due to my 'insightful investment strategies' but I cannot really kid myself. It is really just luck.

I've retired from last job of senior engineer at a Bank since the end of 2022 so technically, I am earning $0 salary per month. I don't pay income tax.
